The Fresno and Clovis high school Salmon Team students we mentor at CART (center for Advanced Research and Technology) spent a day on the San Joaquin River releasing the baby Chinook salmon they hatched out and grew in their classroom aquarium.
Through this program, students learn what it takes to provide the right conditions for salmon to live out their complete life cycles and make the long journey to the Pacific Ocean.
We’re looking forward to also joining our students when they visit California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s SCARF (Salmon Conservation and Research Facility) later this spring. This gives our students a chance to see what its like to work as a biologist at a working hatchery.
Thank you for your support of our current educational programs!
